SAVE THE DATE: JUNE 22-24 @ 201 Mulberry St.

YOSHIAKI YUKI
JUN-ICH ARAI

Yoshiaki Yuki, The Sunlight, 2012
gallery gen is pleased to present the latest works by the gallery's two main artists from Japan, Yoshiaki Yuki and Jun-ichi Arai.

Yuki's work includes fourteen new paintings of calligraphic pictographs. Using his established method, he transforms the familiar Japanese characters into their  ancient, original shapes which were really pictorial references to nature or figures. In addition, he has added a new element of exploration through the use of brighter color pigments which are then applied to those motifs.

The second focus of this exhibition is Jun-ichi Arai's new textile works which were done in collaboration with Yoshiaki Yuki. By applying his well-known crush-press and heat-transfer techniques, Arai has imprinted Yuki's designs on to the surface of this new textile collection.

The exhibition will take place at 201 Mulberry Street, New York from Friday, June 22 to 24th. The opening Night Preview will start at 6 pm until 8pm.

Exhibition Location - from June 22nd to 24th

The exhibition will be continued at the gallery in Long Island City from June 26th until July 7th.
